- 2001 Traslanzas Cigales – Spain, Castilla y León, Duero Valley, Cigales (5/16/2006)
Deep maroon in color with flashes of red at the rim. The nose shows funky earth with cherries, blueberries and mint. Fine firm tannins with a medium acidity. The palate is clean an simple with anise, blue and black berries, and rich smokey oak. Well made and a surprising wine from a virtually unknown appellation.
