2003 Abadia Retuerta Vino de la Tierra Castilla y León Pago La Garduña – Spain, Castilla y León, Sardon de Duero, Vino de la Tierra Castilla y León (6/5/2006)
The nose is pure vanilla, raspberry with light minerals and with time smokey bacon fat. In the mouth the acidity is great with subdued tannins. Flavors of oak, vanilla, and black pepper give way with time to sweet cherry/raspberry, smoke and towards the finish coffee and chocolate flavors. Long finish and a wine that needs some air to fully realize it’s potential.
