2nd Salon de las Bodegas Cooperativas

Co-op tasting Banner

Yesterday I spent a good chunk of the day at the above tasting. All in all there were 24 producers from various Co-op’s located around Spain. What was great to see (taste) was that the fact that a wine from a Co-op is no longer a guarantee of mediocrity. Actually I was quite impressed with the quality. Sure there were stinkers (literally), but all in all the wines were at the worst drinkable and at the best stunning! I tried wines form 1 grape to 5 grapes on my wine rating scale, during the event. As far as tasting notes, they will be here soon. I’ve been busy trying to enter them into [Cellartracker->http://www.cellartracker.com], where I need to for the most point enter them from scratch. The good news is that a lot of them are available in the US so I’ll do my best to point those out when I have a chance to get my notes up. Also I got to add two new grapes to my “weird” grape tasting adventure: Paradin and Zalema, I’ll make sure to let you know all about them!

Till soon, Ryan
