Traditional throws a sediment and is capable of aging almost as long as a vintage. Traditional is only made in good years. Regular LBV is mass produced from lesser vineyards and are bottled with stopper corks.

Answer: The type of stainless steel tank used predominately in the Douro to ferment and pump the fermenting juice over the cap to extract more color and tannin from the grapes. Invented in Portugal. It works by trapping gases in a pressure tank. The build up releases a trigger every 15 minutes which then pumps the wine from the bottom of the tank to spray it over the skins floating on top.

Answer:Grapes are picked and during fermentation neutral grape spirits are added to “fortify” the wine, arresting fermentation, and raising the alcohol to 20% and keeping the wine sweet.

Answer: Ruby is predominately aged in stainless steel or in a less oxidative environment while Tawny is aged in wood. Ferreira priduces their Ruby by barrel aging the wines for 3 years and not mixing young red port with white port.
