About: One of the most astounding cultural events one can see in Spain, is the castell of Catalunya. A castell is a human tower traditionally constructed in festivals; which translates to “often, as festivals are as ubiquitous in Spain as jamon. During these festivals, teams compete against one another to build the highest tower. The feat is so astounding that on November 16, 2010, castells were declared by UNESCO to be amongst the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
