Dating back to the 14th century, the ancestors of Cellers Sant Rafel have been cultivating the land and deeply immersed in the wine sector. But it wasn’t until the most recent generation with Xavi Penas and his wife, Pilar Just, that Cellers Sant Rafel was born.
Having visited their gorgeous estate, located in the Pradell de la Teixeta valley, and warmly greeted by their three children and family dog, it is no wonder they chose to settle here surrounded by pine forests and vineyards. Xavi and Pilar own 9 hectares comprised of Garnatxa Negra, Cabernet Sauvignon and Samso, aged between 8 – 35 years. Vineyards are located between 350-425 meters above sealevel and are made of clay, limestone and pepple soils.
