Catavino’s Friday Feature Photo: Yellow Flowers Blanketing Costa del Sol, Spain

Malaga

Photographer: Svein Erik Larsen

Capture Date: January 2011

Location: Estepona (Malaga) Spain

About: When winter approaches and autumn rain has soaked deep into the ground, bright lemon yellow flowers bloom across the meadows along the Costa del Sol and most of the lowlands in Spain and Southern Europe. The landscape is colored pure sunshine with wood sorrel (Oxalis pes-caprae) . The plant grows in dense carpets along roadsides, flower beds, gardens and parks and is a joy to look at!
