Founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga Martinez, Bodegas Muga has been passed on to the third generation, Jorge and Manuel Muga, who are dedicated to preserving their grandfather’s legacy of producing wines the traditional way in 18,000 liter tinas (oak vats). Muga even has their own cooperage which helps to make and preserve both their tinas and their 14,000 barrels made from French and American oak. Keeping to the traditional Rioja grapes of Viura, Malvasia, Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano and Manzuela, Muga produces 1.5 million bottles a year from the 150 hectares owned and 170 hectares contracted. 30% of their wines are exported internationally, primarily to the USA, Mexico, Canada, Europe, Central America and Asia.
Wines Produced: Eneas, Blanco, Rosado, Crianza, Reserva, Prado Enea, Seleccion Especial, Seleccion Especial Reserva, Torre Muga, Aro, Cava Conde de Aro
