15:00 2010 EWBC Launch with Willi Klinger of the Austrian Wine Marketing Board

The 2010 European Wine Bloggers Conference will take place at the Schönbrunn Palace on October 22-24, 2010 in Vienna, Austria. The EWBC is the only international event dedicated to the convergence of wine on the web, providing a platform for the global wine community to openly address today’s new wine media. Willi Klinger, President of the Austrian Wine Marketing Board, will share why Austria feels social media is important, while tasting a range of spectacular Austrian wines!

16:00 Thierry’s Wine Blending Session

Languedoc-based Gérard Bertrand will be showing what makes his ‘Tautavel’ blend unique with the help of two of Thierry’s ‘roving consumer reporters’ and The Wine Gang’s Tim Atkin. The charismatic ex-rugby star will perform a blending exercise demonstrating the different elements which make up his Tautavel blend with the help of two consumers, selected by Thierry’s. The finished product will be tasted in conjunction with The Wine Gang’s Tim Atkin (the wine has been selected for the Top 100 tasting). This process will be recorded on video and edited into a short video to be presented at The Access Zone, the LIWF’s new social media hub, on Tuesday 18th May at 4pm. Gérard will be present and all attendees will be able to taste the wine informally. Come and join us!

Vintae will perform a live tasting of their Spanish White Guerilla wines, including the first Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Albariño and Viogner made in La Rioja. Ricardo Arambarri will explain the unique characteristics of each of these wines, along with the entertaining story behind their labels. They will also highlight their  http://www.vinopedia.tv project, which will be launched shortly. It is their belief that the more you know about a given subject, the more you are able to enjoy it.
