There can’t be a more misunderstood type of wine than Sherry. Fairly, we tend to lump its various styles into one homogenous group, usually associating the whole lot with Harvey’s Bristol Cream, a sweet brown drink that was the magic elixir of little old ladies. We want to change this misconception! We’ll take you and your taste buds on a remarkable journey through the Sherry Triangle of Southern Andalucia during the week of Vendemia – the harvest of the Palomino, Moscatel & Pedro Ximenez grapes. This is not a guided tour. This is an intimate experience with people who live here in Sherry Country. We are going to share with you the best we know.

Itinerary / Schedule
No previous knowledge of Sherry is required but a desire to taste, learn and enjoy as many different Sherries as possible is must. We will also have lots of our delicious local wines on offer – and beer too – in Spain there is always beer.
Your 4 nights and 3 days will be action packed as we aim for you to get the most out of your short time in this magical area.
Thursday 11th September
Transfers from Jerez airport to the hotel. Welcome drinks and dinner
After breakfast we head to the fabulous Mercado de Abastos of Jerez where we will buy our goodies and then head to the Bodega to cook, taste Sherry and enjoy the history of the bodega with our hosts before we sit down to lunch. Siesta – you’re in Spain! All aboard for a journey into the vineyards of the DO of Jerez where you are going to pick and trample grapes with our lovely hosts. Sherry and tapas will flow whilst we watch the sun set.
After breakfast we head to the coastal town of Sanlucar de Barrameda, the most northerly of the 3 towns that make up the sherry triangle. Sanlucar is famous for Manzanilla and seafood – of which we will be buying copious amounts at the market. Our hosts for the day will fascinate you with the facts of how the sea air gives Manzanilla it’s unique qualities. This evening we will be in Jerez and attending a fabulous Cata (Sherry tasting). After a big breakfast we are off to one of our favorite family run Bodegas. Enjoying some fab sherries, we’ll hop on the ferry to take us to Cádiz for lunch.
We think a siesta may be called for – perhaps on the autobus back to Jerez but definitely after when get there. We have a another great fun evening tonight – The Tabancos of Jerez. This great culture of Sherry bars is now catching on worldwide. We will take you to the best to meet our friends and hopefully see some live and raw Flamenco. Our final night Sherry quiz will take place
It’s horrible to say Adios so we want it to be ¡Hasta Luego! because we want you to have enjoyed this weekend so much that you will be back!! Your day is free to shop or maybe detox in the fabulous Hamman – Arabic Baths that Jerez is famous for too. Transfers back to airport or perhaps you want to continue your journey further into Spain from here.
