Under the Ashcloud – Live at the London International Wine Fair

Who knew that volcanos and ash clouds would become such a huge influence in our lives today. However, no matter how large the ash cloud, the show must go on.

This week, we’re a bit light on the Spanish and Portuguese coverage only because we’re busy helping wineries to get online here in London. In February, we were approached by the organizers of the London International Wine Fair (LIWF) to do give a talk prior to the conference, and in exchange, they would set up a stand (60 meters) for us to “preach the good word” that the internet is here to stay.

Today, we find ourselves in a stand that is big enough to host workshops with 2 large interactive screens, and a camera crew recording and editing video on the spot to show you all what we’re up to. The response has been amazing, and we’re looking forward to the coming 2 days as we move the wine world online kicking and screaming! We’ll be posting live video, continue our live blogging, and tweet like crazy people. Please check our live stream here: London Wine Fair Live!

    Hi Ryan,

enjoying the LIWF and the video is great.

Sorry I missed you in Lisbon, but I got to catch up with André from Adegga as well as sample the delights from the different wine shops you recommended.

Campo Ourique was fantastic, shop was closed, but the owner runs a charcuterie across the road. He opened the shop for me, then his colleague Vitor fed me and brought out some amazing wines from Portugal. The Antonio Carvalheiro '99 from Bairrada was my pick of the bunch.

So, thanks for the tips and enjoy London!

  • Hi, I couldn't make it this year, but I followed the talks on the live-blogging feed. Next best thing? Will be there next year 🙂
