About: Portugal has two dolphinaria, one located in the southern region of the Algarve and the other in Lisbon. Together they reportedly hold a total of 25 bottlenose dolphins, while the islands are home to heaps of wild cetaceans. In Madeira, you can experience inshore sightings of bottlenose dolphins and harbour porpoises, as well as offshore sightings of sperm and pilot whales. While the Azores are well known for their vast numbers of whale species, including: sperm, blue, fin and sei whales, in addition to Risso’s – striped and spotted dolphins. The point being, there’s no shortage of sea creatures to experience across Portugal!
