Highlights:
I just wanted to take a moment to let you know what a great time we had on the wine tour. Nico was an amazing guide and we really felt we got to know the region and develop an appreciation for wine in the Penedes region. I will definitely be recommending you if any of my contacts head to the area. Thanks again!
Among the Moor’s important gastronomic gifts to Spain, none can have greater significance than rice. This humble grain, together with the precious and delicate delicacy saffron (also a Moorish contribution), plays an indisputable role in the classic Mediterranean paella, an omnipresent dish on nearly every “Spanish” menu on earth. Today, you will have the incredible experience of creating this rich, flavorful dish!
Begin your day with a vivid, hands-on plunge into the culinary traditions of Spain with a market tour and cooking class! The first hour is spent weaving through the colorful stalls of a famous fresh produce Market where you will accompany your chef instructor in buying the fresh products for your Paella lesson. Vegetables bursting with flavor and dusted with dirt from nearby farms. Seafood of the highest caliber. Iberian jamón so rich and succulent that the delicate, hand-carved slices practically melt in your mouth. After the market tour, you return to the beautiful teaching kitchen mere blocks away to cook up the most iconic dish of Spain. As the ingredients change with the seasons, each class highlights the flavor of the classics with a touch of modernism, leaving you with a picture-perfect final meal to be shared among classmates. All food and wine included.
